I am going to evaluate the University of Toledo Law website.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Content

Correct Information - It has good updated information for the next few weeks, but they forgot to change the copyright date.
Quality of Information - They have a ton of information - which is good- It is current and relative to the page.
Picture/Graphic Quality - It is visually appealing and the pictures are high quality.- The background is a distracting with the bright purple.
User Interaction - The navigation is simple, but gets the job done.
Page Titles - Each page has a title and heading. This makes organizing and following the material easier.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

User-Friendliness

Contact Us / Inquiry - They have both a search UT Law input button and a contact page.
Cross Browser Compatibility - It appears the same in IE 7 and FF and Safari. This is important because a page can look perfect in one browsers and distorted in another.
Knowing your Audience - They have it geared towards Law students, the way it should be.
No Horizontal Scrolling - There is no horizontal scrolling. Thank goodness.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Content/User-Friendliness

White Space - They do a good job of text/graphics to white space. It gives it a clean feel.
Professional Fonts (Arial, Courier, Times) - The font appears to be Arial or Times. It looks good.
Grammar and Punctuation - I have not noticed any poor or obvious grammatical errors
Slow Loading - It loads very fast even with the heavy graphic load.
Facilitate Scanning - Break text up with headings to provide easier way to find information -
Make Links obvious but visually stimulating - The links work well as a bluish purple that ties in the background and school colors.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

User-Friendliness/Accessibility

No Downtime for Maintenance - It has always been up whenever I checked, however I could see it going down for changes. That would be late at night in the Eastern Time Zone so it would not affect many people.
Site Map - They do have a site map which is great since they have a lot of information.
Easy Navigation - good flow - It is all laid out nicely and conveniently  If you get stuck, there is always the site map.
When typing in URL - The URL is standard.
News Letters - They do loads of information including news and published materials.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Accessibility

Search Engine Optimization - It pops up right away when you search for it.
Links from other professional/quality websites - It is a University site so it already has credibility, but it also is mentioned on other university pages and news articles on the web. (Can not find the link, but the Blade had an article.)
Easy URL to remember - law.utoledo is very easy to remember.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Overall the Law website is great. It has a lot of the main features that I was looking for in a good website. There are only a few things I would change such as the Background color from a bright purple to something lighter like a cream or white. The link color can stay the same because it still fits with the school colors. I would also change the copyright date. Other than that, I can not think of anything else I would change since they did a good job.

  1. This is an extremely excellent post. I enjoyed reading through your current post. Need to confess that you’re most likely amongst the flex seal reviews leading bloggers I’ve read.
